Ground Force Engineering is expanding toward complete structural plan packages for new buildings: foundations, gravity framing, the lateral system and connections, coordinated with the architectural drawings and the geotechnical report.
The scope below is what a full structural plan set covers. Parts of it, such as foundation design and framing for additions and renovations, are established services with their own pages.
Scope of services
- Foundation plans with footing schedules designed to the geotechnical report or code presumptive bearing
- Framing plans for floors and roofs in wood, steel, cold-formed steel or masonry
- Wind and seismic design: braced wall lines, shear walls, moment frames and diaphragms
- Steel connection design in RISAConnection for framed and pre-engineered buildings
- Masonry walls and lintels to TMS 402, including reinforcement schedules
- Special inspection schedules and statements required by the building department
- Review of truss, cold-formed framing and steel joist deferred submittals
- Plan review responses, construction phase questions and shop drawing review
How we approach it
We review the proposed building, the available architectural documents and the division of design responsibility, and agree on a scope the firm can deliver before work begins.
